2011 BATON ROUGE BLUES WEEK/BATON ROUGE BLUES FESTIVAL: Blues week includes numerous musical performances in the Manship Theatre, Teddy’s Juke Joint (Zachary), Chelsea’s and Boudreaux and Thibodeaux. The festival takes place noon-10 p.m. Saturday, May 7, in Repentance Park downtown between the Baton Rouge River Center and the Old State Capitol. Performers include Delbert McClinton, Jimmie Vaughan, Henry Gray, Jimbo Mathus and others. http://www.batonrougebluesfestival.com.

AGMAGIC: 10 a.m.-3 p.m., John M. Parker Coliseum, LSU campus. Learn about the magic of agriculture and how it affects your everyday life at this annual event, which features live plants and animals, exhibits, educational booths, demonstrations and much more.

DESTREHAN PLANTATION SPRING HERITAGE DAY: 8:30 a.m.-2 p.m., 13034 River Road, Destrehan. Fifteenth Annual Spring Heritage Day and Civil War Encampment. Civil War re-enactments along with demonstrations of 19th century American life. $5. (985) 764-2894.
